Artist Statement — 2025

Don’t create art to be understood.

Create to rupture, to recontextualize, to disturb the surface of what we’ve agreed is acceptable in tattooing, in aesthetics, in art.

My practice emerges from tattooing as a conceptual medium. A way of leaving a mark on systems. I aim to transform the inherent pain of existence. Turning rupture into transformation, and that, demands movement.

I’ve founded and dismantled spaces. Directed collectives that disrupted the tattoo industry in Mexico. Built brands that became cultural blueprints, and when they became the status quo, I left them behind. I’ve grown beyond the institutions and the cities I develop in. Leaving pride aside, pushed by the need to explore.

This is rebellion, a refusal to conform.

I don’t seek approval from institutions. You are the judge, are the one that connects with the work, the one that validates it, through observation and interaction. My aesthetic aims to divert from decorative pieces, it aims to be conscious, to make you uncomfortable, and to speak honestly.

I aim to expand the codes I once inscribed on skin into broader contexts.

I am not here to please.

I am here to mark, to unsettle, and to venture into the unknown.
